This cuff blood pressure monitor was selected best in tests conducted by the Hammacher Schlemmer Institute for its accuracy, and is the first and only monitor cleared by the Food And Drug Administration that detects morning hypertension, a leading cause of "silent strokes". It uses the oscillometric method of blood pressure measurement, clinically proven to provide accurate readings for hypertension and arrhythmia, and takes three consecutive measurements separated by one-minute intervals, providing an average.
